Peace & Justice Work
“People say, what is the sense of our small effort? They cannot see that we must lay one brick at a time, take one step at a time. A pebble cast into a pond causes ripples that spread in all directions. Each one of our thoughts, words and deeds is like that. No one has a right to sit down and feel hopeless. There is too much work to do." - Dorothy Day
We are workers trying to make God present. We are messenger echoing those stories and voices of message of peace and hope amongst the oppression and hardship in our world. We are activists standing in solidarity on the side of Justice and Love of all people and our Mother Earth, whether that be in big or small actions. We are one in resistance to the Empire that strips, oppresses, and marginalizes, rather than enlivens, empowers, and loves.
Our community has a history of antiwar activism through many efforts. Pictured above is the Disarm Now Plowsharers, including Father Bix and Lynn Greenwald, who were both active in TCW. We support those promoting nuclear disarmament and resisting the military industrial complex, like those resisting the building of a naval base on Jeju Island, South Korea. Catholic Worker, Melissa, is pictured taking mass during their daily eucharist action in front of the naval base's gates. To learn more information visit, savejejunow.org.
